Trending: new nudes

When it comes to interior decorating, grey may have held sway for a number of years, but things are definitely warming up. Soft, barely there nudes – think biscuit, sand, beige and flesh pink – are having a moment and are popping up everywhere from the catwalk to paint colours and soft furnishings.

If you’re tempted to embrace the new nudes and are looking for flooring to match, you’re definitely in the right place. While we love our metallics and our brights – like our vibrant Aurora coir runners – we also like to celebrate the organic, earthy tones of coir, sisal and seagrass in their most natural state (like our Sisal Gizar Pampas, top left, and our Seagrass Panama Natural, centre). In our opinion, these pale gold and biscuit tones have an elegance that’s truly timeless. Use them to bring instant warmth to a room, pair with stronger colours such as navy blue, crisp white and black as part of a modern Scandinavian scheme, or go for a ‘textured’ look with layers of rough wool, stonewashed linens and wood accessories. There is no limit to what you can do with nude shades; as they’re understated, it’s impossible to go OTT. Use our mood board as a jumping-off point and see where it takes you…
