Product information

This beautifully flat woven sisal Panama is a special limited addition carpet. We love the natural shades and simple weave so much we just had to have it in our collection.

How to measure your room

Room measuring guide

  1. Measure the full room. Find the longest length and widest width, including alcoves, bays and doorways. Measure twice and write your dimensions in metres.
  2. Choose your roll width. Select an available width that covers the room. For example, a room 3.6m wide needs at least a 4m roll.
  3. Check before ordering. Allow for fitting and trimming, and ask your installer to confirm the final measurements. For stairs or an irregular room, contact us for help.

Minimum order length: 1 metre. This short guide is an illustration; your fitter should confirm the amount to order.

What is underlay?

Carpet underlay

Underlay is the supportive layer fitted between your floor and carpet. The right underlay helps your carpet feel comfortable and supports its backing as you walk on it.

Why it matters

  • Comfort: a little cushioning underfoot.
  • Support: helps protect the carpet against everyday wear and keeps the surface supported.
  • A warmer, quieter room: adds insulation and helps soften footstep noise.

Choose a compatible type

Natural-fibre carpets need firm, durable support rather than an overly soft or spongy base. We recommend RC Eco for standard sisal Boucle, coir and seagrass. It is a 6.5mm rubber-based underlay made partly from recycled vehicle tyres.

AirFlow 2.0 is a different option for compatible no-glue carpet ranges. Its current product guidance says to use RC Eco for other natural carpets, so the correct choice depends on the carpet you are fitting.

How many rolls?

Each recommended roll covers 15m² and is sold whole. Divide your carpet area by 15 and round up: 15m² needs one roll, while just over 15m² needs two. The page works this out for your selected dimensions; your fitter can confirm cutting and layout allowances.

For help choosing or fitting underlay, ask us about installation.

Double-stick installation

Unless specified otherwise, most natural carpets need a compatible underlay and a double-stick fitting system: the underlay is bonded to the subfloor, then the carpet is bonded to the underlay. Ask your installer to confirm the right underlay and adhesive for your chosen carpet.
